Ethics and values

Ethics and values

Over the past 12 years, Acres Building Consultants has been developed its business around three core values:

We strongly believe that we need to give something back, and we are proud of the fact that our director undertakes a different challenge each year (normally involving cycling!) to raise vital funds for charities.

We actively support and encourage our team to undertake charity events.

Charity events

Acres Building Consultants has donated to and continues
to support charities such as:

  • Crisis
  • Macmillan Cancer
  • Support
  • British Heart Foundation
  • Nordoff & Robbins
  • Childline
  • Teenage Cancer Trust
  • Sophie Lancaster Foundation
  • Mind

In 2014 Tony cycled off road from London to Paris (300KM) over a period of 3 days in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

2015, 2016 & 2017 Tony rode from Alexandra Palace to Castle Donnington in aid of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, Childline and Teenage Cancer Trust.

2019 Tony undertook the Wales Coast to Coast cycle ride, covering 252 miles and 22,198ft of hill climbing in 3 days in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

Due to Covid-19 there was no challenge in 2020.

In 2021, Tony joined the London Legal Walk as part of the team representing the Academy of Experts.  The London Legal Walk raises much-needed funds for charities that provide life changing legal advice and representation to those in need.

Tony was back in the saddle in 2022. The summer was spent training for the London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride on 17 September.

Crawley Legal Walk 2023

On Tuesday 12th September, a team from Acres Building Consultants took part in the Crawley Legal Walk, a 10km sponsored walk to raise funds for the provision of specialist free legal advice in Crawley.

The Acres team: Isabell Virnau, Tony Isbell, Emma Hegedus, and Alastair Barnes, helped raised close to £7,000 for the local Citizens Advice, representing the north part of West Sussex.

Over 13.4 million people live in poverty in the UK and advice providers are at breaking point with the growing need from their clients. The number of people seeking help with d
ebt, benefits, homelessness, and employment has increased dramatically due to the rising cost of living, and those seeking help with domestic violence has also risen sharply.

Many people cannot afford legal help and we believe everybody should be able to receive legal advice when they need it most.

As the cost of living has risen dramatically, the money raised by the walk will go a long way in supporting Citizens Advice to ensure they can keep the lights on, and doors open for the many vulnerable people they help.

Acres Building Consultants is proud to have been able to contribute to this worthy cause.
